Job Title: Assistant Transport Manager
Location of work: Earlswood Depot
Salary: £40,983 - £48,075 (dependant on experience and qualifications)

About the Role:
The primary role of the Assistant Transport Manager is to ensure the efficient &amp; effective running of the Council’s Fleet services, whilst maintaining compliance with all aspects of the operator’s license. This involves the procurement, management, maintenance and repair of all of the Council’s vehicles across a number of service areas.
You will be also responsible for managing the day-to-day running of an in-house workshop which facilitates the repair of fleet vehicles, provides MOT services for class 4, 5 &amp; 7 vehicles and taxi plating. In addition, the Assistant Transport Manager will lead on the planning &amp; co-ordination of the vehicle capital replacement program and any associated work streams.
Some of the duties include:
<ul>
<li>To Administer fleet/transport related software, including the fleet management system, vehicle mounted CCTV and vehicle tracking software.</li>
<li>Manage the fleet MOT and service schedules.</li>
<li>Assist the Transport manager in the procurement of new fleet assets.</li>
<li>Administrate Reigate and Banstead Borough Council’s operator’s licence obligations, including Tacho downloads, drivers’ hours, and monthly report processing.</li>
<li>Take responsibility for MOT lane management in the capacity of AED/AEDM once qualification is gained.</li>
</ul>
About the Person:
<ul>
<li>Extensive fleet management experience to drive through successful change; through vision and innovative ways of working, which will improve our fleet management and workshop practices.</li>
<li>Highly organised, motivated and have strong leadership skills</li>
<li>Strong interpersonal skills to ensure excellent customer care and cross service collaboration.</li>
</ul>
Qualifications:
<ul>
<li>You will be qualified to hold the council’s Operators License (O License) and will need to be qualified in vehicle maintenance and workshop management (a member of the Institute of Road Transport Engineers, or equivalent).</li>
<li>Full UK driving licence (HGV experience preferred).</li>

About the Role
We are seeking an enthusiastic person with initiative, drive and a passion for good governance and scrutiny to lead our Democratic Services team. You will lead the team in supporting the democratic processes, civic and mayoral functions and the governance of the Council; ensuring that decisions are taken effectively and lawfully. This will involve co-ordinating the work of the team to ensure the Council’s Committees, meetings and Members receive high quality support. You will also be leading on civic support for the Mayoralty, working with the Democratic and Electoral Services Manager on Civic Events.
Key to the role will be working directly with Councillors and Senior Officers, giving advice, and responding to requests whilst providing direct support to the committees you will be responsible for.&nbsp; In particular, we are looking for someone with Overview and Scrutiny experience who can advise, support and develop the scrutiny function working with the team member who supports the committee.&nbsp; This is an opportunity to make your mark in a short period of time and embed good scrutiny practice into the team.
This is a full-time position working 37 hours per week, on a fixed term contract for 12 months to cover a period of maternity leave. You will also regularly be required to attend evening meetings.

About the Role:

The Housing and Land directorate is responsible for the Mayor’s plans to deliver new and improved homes and strong communities. &nbsp;Working closely with boroughs and partners, we manage the Mayor’s housing investment programmes and land and property assets to support the building of affordable homes, job creation and regeneration.

 About the team</h2>
The Land and Development team is within the Housing and Land Directorate. The Land and Development team supports GLA Land and Property Limited (GLAP), which is the Greater London Authority’s commercial subsidiary for property investment, development and assessment management. The team is responsible with the delivery of the GLAP portfolio of development on the Mayor’s land and joint venture interests, alongside entering into new opportunities to unlock development outcomes. &nbsp;
GLAP aims to deliver up to a total of 68,000 new homes on the Mayor’s land and joint venture interests, including homes delivered to date and looking ahead over the next 25 years.&nbsp;&nbsp;
Some of GLAP’s schemes include some of London’s largest regeneration projects, such as Royal Docks, Greenwich Peninsula and Barking Riverside. Sites are typically large-scale and mixed-use multi-phased development projects, working with our development partners collaboratively under development agreement delivery structures. While most sites are in contract with partners, others are in procurement, such as Royal Albert Dock. In addition to development land, GLAP holds a significant estate with investment properties, operational property and public realm.

This is a leadership role, ensuring that GLA Land and Property Limited (GLAP) is actively contributing to the delivery of Mayoral environmental sustainability and social value priorities and commitments. The Senior Sustainability Manager leads the implementation of GLAP’s Climate Action Strategy ensuring that it achieves its strategic goals and objectives. The role leads on embedding climate risk management practices within GLAP ensuring that GLAP is resilient to the impacts of climate change.

What We’re Looking For

<li>Experience in a housing, maintenance, or customer service environment. 
</li>
<li>Strong organisational and IT skills.

<li>Good communication skills with a customer-first approach.

<li>The ability to work independently and as part of a team. 
</li>
<li>A proactive attitude, with the flexibility to adapt to changing priorities.
