<h4>Job summary</h4><p>Great British Energy will be a publicly owned, operationally independent energy company, designed to drive clean energy deployment, boost energy independence, create jobs and ensure U K taxpayers, billpayers and communities reap the benefits of clean, secure, homegrown energy. It will be necessary for you to be able to place decisions about medicine within the wider context of treatment, and you must be able to balance the interests of the patient against the need for treatment. The ability to employ independent judgement and to justify decisions in the face of potential external pressures is essential.</p><p><br>We are looking for consultant psychiatrists with a demonstrable commitment to a rights-based approach, in-depth knowledge and experience of psychiatry in a variety of clinical settings, and considerable experience of working with detained patients. Candidates should have current or recent hands-on practice in a clinical environment, and should be up to date with current practice, both clinical and non-clinical, including measures to promote equality of service provision for all patients.</p><p><strong>What you will bring to the role…<br></strong>Successful candidates will have held a permanent substantive post as a consultant psychiatrist for at least three years. We are particularly interested in candidates who can demonstrate an interest in and commitment to improving the lives of detained patients.</p><h4>Person specification</h4><p><strong>Accountabilities:</strong><br>SOADs are expected to undertake all aspects of the role relating to Section 58, Section 58a and Supervised Community Treatment including:<br>- Interviewing the patient in private where possible and applicable.<br>- Understanding the patient’s circumstances through reading of relevant documents/records.<br>- Reviewing the current and proposed treatment plan<br>- Talking to two professionals involved in the patient’s medical treatment also known as statutory consultees.<br>- Seeking additional information to inform their decision as appropriate.<br>- Certifying appropriate treatments and recording the reasons for this.</p><p>A SOAD is required to make decisions on whether treatments are appropriate and issue certificates accordingly, based on their own independent judgement, taking into consideration clinical rationale, the interests of the patient, and the implementation of the Act and the Code of Practice.</p><p><br>Second Opinions can be carried out by visiting a hospital or remotely through video or telephone contact. The successful candidate will be appointed in the post at a position relevant to their qualifications and level of experience. </p><p>In this role you will assist in in all matters relating to the conservation of the historic environment. You will be based at our offices in Hertford, with the option for home working up to 50% of working hours.</p><p>We are looking for someone who will work alongside other planning professionals in delivering and maintaining high quality environments within the district’s towns and countryside. Working as part of a team you will be providing expert advice on all aspects of heritage, including advising on listed building consents, and advising on design matters. </p><p>There will also be an opportunity to get involved in a range of pro-active conservation and urban design work including Conservation Area Appraisals, the Local List of Historic Buildings, the Local List of Historic Parks and Gardens, updating our Heritage at Risk Register, updating our guidance, and opportunities to contribute towards policy, masterplans, and design codes. </p><p><br></p><p><strong>About You</strong></p><p>We are looking for enthusiastic, hard-working individuals who are keen to learn and share our aims and ambitions.
