About the Role
The Liverpool City Region Combined Authority is recruiting for a highly experienced Events Manager. You will lead a diverse, high‑profile programme of corporate and city region events—ranging from conferences, international summits and ministerial visits to cultural moments, launches and project milestones. You will own end‑to‑end delivery: setting objectives, shaping concepts, building timelines, managing budgets and ensuring each event reflects our brand, values and mission.
This role will report to the Head of Corporate Affairs and will manage an Events Officer and co-ordinate multi-disciplinary colleagues across multiple concurrent events.
Key responsibilities will include event planning &amp; delivery, corporate affairs integration, venues and logistics, programmes and content, supplier management, promotion and marketing, on site leadership, promotion and marketing of core events, evaluation and insight to measure ROI and inform continuous improvement.
 About the person
We’re looking for someone with relevant qualification in public relations, events or engagement or equivalent professional experience. A proven track record in planning and delivering complex events in a local authority, public sector or corporate setting. You’re a collaborative stakeholder able to build relationships across senior internal and external audiences.
With supplier and budget management experience you are extremely confident and negotiating contracts and ensuring value for money. You’ll excel when it comes to attention to detail and be highly astute at multi-tasking multiple workstreams simultaneously. Bourne Hall Museum&nbsp;is seeking a highly organised and knowledgeable Assistant to work alongside the Curator on our museum collections and the stories they tell. The successful candidate will be responsible for assisting in meticulous care and documentation of the collections, public engagement, conducting thorough research, planning and organizing formal education provision, exhibition development and supporting volunteers.
Key responsibilities include processing new acquisitions to the museum collections, controlling the removal and return of items to the museum and monitoring conditions in the museum stores. The assistant responds to enquiries about the collections, researches and writes text for exhibitions. A major art of the role is to assist in enhancing public engagement by developing and delivering programmes that engage schools, local communities, and visitors with the museum collections and its stories. This includes providing talks and guided walks for schoolchildren and adults, administering school loan boxes and talks, establishing contact with schoolteachers, co-ordinating children’s extracurricular learning activities and running the children’s club. Additionally, they will work collaboratively with internal and external stakeholders.
We are looking for a candidate with demonstrated experience of working in a museum or cultural setting. The ideal candidate will possess exceptional organisational and engagement skills, and the ability to work effectively on their own initiative as well as within a diverse team, Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal, are essential. The ability to prioritise and manage workloads efficiently to meet the museum’s schedule is also crucial.

This is a fantastic opportunity to join a team responsible for maintaining some of Liverpool City Region’s key and historic assets such as Kingsway and Queensway tunnels and other key transport infrastructure across the region.
As part of the team operating on a rotating Day/Night shift schedule, you’ll be tasked with carrying out planned electrical maintenance and responding to emergency/reactive works across the Mersey Tunnels and wider estate. You’ll work closely with your team to deliver maintenance and installation projects under the supervision of a Team Leader and the Principal Officer - Works Delivery.
About the shift pattern
This role comes with a 3-week rotating shift pattern designed to offer flexibility and a better work-life balance, with the bonus of no Friday afternoon or Friday night shifts!
Day Shifts (3 weeks):
•‍ Monday to Thursday: 07:30 – 15:30
•‍ Friday: 07:30 – 12:30
Night Shifts (3 weeks):

About the person
