About Camden
Camden is changing on the inside to make life better for everyone. Our residents and communities are at the heart of everything we do. We’re home to the most important conversations happening today and we’re making radical social change a reality, so that nobody gets left behind. Here’s where you can help decide a better future for us all.
What You’ll Be Doing
Join us as the Acting Tree Manager, where you'll be at the forefront of managing and maintaining approximately 29,000 council-owned trees. You'll oversee a substantial annual tree contract worth £820k, a corporate budget of £45k combined with a capital programme of £450k for tree planting.
In this role, you'll lead a dedicated team, including a Senior Tree Officer, a Planting Tree Officer, and four Tree Officers, while also collaborating with the London Tree Officers Association (LTOA) and the Association of Tree Officers (ATO). As the lead Council officer for arboricultural issues, you'll provide expert advice to officers, Councillors, other organisations, and the public.
Your responsibilities will include identifying best practices, ensuring value for money in corporate tree management, and liaising with various service areas such as Insurance, Legal, Housing, Transport Planning, and more. If you're ready to take on a strategic role in tree risk management and contribute to a greener, healthier community, we want to hear from you!
