Are you an experienced professional who thrives in fast-paced environments and is passionate about making a difference when it matters most?

Join our Emergency Duty Service (EDS) Team as a Casual Adult Safeguarding Care Coordinator, where you will play a vital role in responding to urgent safeguarding concerns, supporting vulnerable adults in times of crisis and coordinating effective interventions outside of normal working hours.

This rewarding role requires sound professional judgement, strong assessment skills and the ability to work confidently both independently and as part of a dedicated multi-agency team committed to protecting and supporting adults at risk.

This is a relief/casual role providing cover on Fridays, Saturdays, Sundays and Bank Holidays on an as-required basis. There are no guaranteed hours, and shifts will be offered in line with service needs.

About you…

As an Adult Safeguarding Care Coordinator, you will be a qualified Social Worker, Nurse, or Allied Professional, holding a CQSW, Diploma or Degree in Social Work or a relevant professional qualification in Nursing.

Bringing at least three years' experience in crisis intervention and complex adult safeguarding assessments, you will be confident in making sound decisions in challenging situations.

Strong communication skills, together with the ability to gather, analyse and accurately record complex information, will enable you to work effectively with a range of professionals and agencies.

Whether working as part of a team or independently, you will remain calm under pressure and be committed to safeguarding vulnerable adults and supporting positive outcomes for those at risk.

About the team…

  • To assess eligibility and act on cases of emergency homelessness arising out of hours as per the Homelessness Reduction Act 2017.
  • To produce a high standard of accurate recording relating to all work undertaken to meet departmental policies and procedures.
  • To assess and respond to requests for appropriate adults, which may require attendance to custody.

Our benefits …

  • Competitive hourly pay.
  • Regular individual supervision and reflective peer group support led by a qualified practitioner.
  • An inclusive and social working environment.
  • Local government pension scheme.
  • Life insurance cover (linked to the pension scheme)
