- Be able to build a positive relationship with the child to both encourage and support them.
- Be flexible to meet the needs of the family.
- Have knowledge of working with or supporting a child with special needs.
Hours of work
4 hours during term time and 12 hours school holidays.
About the recipient
They are nonverbal but communicate using certain sounds to indicate preferences, such as liking or disliking things, or when they are tired. They are unable to feed themselves but can eat solid foods. They require assistance with drinking; however, they indicate when they are ready for another drink by looking at their bottle. They are unable to walk and need support being moved between their equipment.
