We are looking for an enthusiastic and self-motivated individual to join the Inspire Libraries Early Years Team as an Early Years Development Worker.

The role supports the development, delivery, and promotion of library services for children aged 0 – 4, and their families, across Nottinghamshire including the Bookstart programme.

Working directly with children and their families in libraries and in community settings including Family Hubs, nurseries and parent and toddler groups you will support and encourage book sharing, promote library use to help inspire a love of books and reading from the earliest years. You will be an advocate for the Bookstart programme, early literacy and libraries and work closely with partners across Inspire and in early years, education and health.

Recent experience of working with young children and their families in a library, education or childcare setting is essential. A relevant Level 3 qualification or equivalent is also required. You will have excellent communication skills, organisational abilities and an enthusiasm and commitment to the ethos and principles of Bookstart and the public library service.

Occasional weekend working required, the postholder will be based at Mansfield Central Library, with home working supported. Working pattern will be agreed with the successful candidate. The post involves travel countywide to libraries and community venues.

Inspire is committed to applying its Equality Policy at all stages of recruitment and selection.
