We are seeking an energetic, enthusiastic and highly motivated person to join the Emergency Management Service, working with key internal and external stakeholders to provide resilience to the London Borough of Ealing.

The post holder will have responsibility for supporting the delivery of the emergency management and business continuity management programmes, ensuring the enhancement of internal and external response and recovery arrangements. This includes risk assessment, capability development, training and exercising, and multi and inter-agency collaboration.

You will need to be able to demonstrate excellent interpersonal and presentation (both oral and written) skills, be committed to working as part of a team and be able to work to tight deadlines. Possessing excellent project management skills and the ability to work on your own initiative are required.

You should be customer focused and be able to work with staff at all levels and in a wide range of organisations, including the emergency services, voluntary sector and businesses.

You will also be required to participate on a on call rota to respond to emergencies as a Resilience Advisor.

You will require:

  • A formal qualification: educated to degree level or with a professional qualification in emergency planning / disaster management or have significant vocational training in an emergency management discipline
  • Working knowledge of the Civil Contingencies Act, 2004 and how this is implemented in local government.
  • Recent experience of working within the fields of Emergency Planning and Business Continuity.
