Are you a focused and enthusiastic team player who enjoys working with communities and agencies to enhance community engagement and cohesion?

We are looking for someone like you to join our team! If we are a good fit for you, you will have the opportunity to work on a wide range of projects, such as engaging with local residents and partners to understand their concerns and needs, arranging and attending community events and implementing the Council's Thriving Together strategy.

What will you be doing?

  • Provide a service to develop and monitor engagement activities.
  • Review and investigate opportunities for community involvement working with partners and residents.
  • Monitor performance against objectives and targets in relation to the Thriving Together strategy and action plans.
  • Lead and identify opportunities for community engagement events within the district. Engage with local communities to raise awareness of key initiatives, gather feedback and promote public confidence in the authority's work.

About you

As an ideal candidate, you will have:

  • Experience of partnership working with external organisations and in particular partners agencies including the voluntary sector.
  • A broad knowledge of local government and a knowledge of political and democratic context in which the council operates.
  • Effective communication skills that include meeting customers and clients, dealing with queries and to have the ability to respond in writing and verbally, both face to face and whilst on a telephone.
  • Competency in the use of Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, Outlook, and PowerPoint)
  • Experience of applying and securing funding.
