Warwickshire County Council’s Adult and Community Learning is a dynamic, forward-looking adult education service, judged ‘Good’ by Ofsted. We provide a wide range of adult learning courses across the county.

We are seeking a tutor to teach within the Family Learning Programme with a specific project focus of Best Start in Life. This will be focused on delivering Early Years programmes as part of BSiL focused work on raising GLD within the county. This work will specifically be centred around Family Learning’s Creating REAL Impact work, as part of the Raising Early Achievement in Literacy (REAL) evidence-based project. Knowledge of REAL is desirable, but training will be provided.

This post will be based Warwickshire-wide and there will be a requirement to travel to venues in communities in Nuneaton, Bedworth and North Warwickshire, Rugby and surrounding areas, Warwick district and Stratford district.

This post is being offered on a fixed term basis, linked to funding, until the end of March 2028.

Classes mostly take place during the day, with some evening provision offered. Classes are delivered across South Warwickshire in partnership with a variety of settings.

This role is part time, term time only, plus two weeks (41 weeks)

Ideally, the candidate will be available to begin as soon mutually convenient though start dates can be negotiated where notice periods would not enable this.

Key Requirements

  • You are likely to be a skilled, qualified teacher, with knowledge and experience of teaching across the Early Years Foundation Stage.
  • You will hold ambitious expectations of your learners and an ability to inspire them to achieve to the best of their abilities.
  • You will be able to plan and deliver high quality Family Learning programmes, independently and collaboratively.
  • You will be confident to deliver and assess accredited provision, with experience of moderation processes in an education context.
  • You will need to have an innovative approach to teaching and experience of working with learners with a range of abilities.
  • You will have experience of working with adults and children within education.
  • You must be committed to equality, diversity and inclusion and to supporting the rights and aspirations of under-represented groups.
