Working 36.5 hours per week We’re looking for a proactive Fleet Support Officer to join our Street Scene Fleet Management team at Birmingham City Council. This is a key role in ensuring our fleet operates efficiently, safely, and in full compliance with regulatory standards.   • Coordinate and maintain essential maintenance documentation (PMIs, brake tests, defect logs).
  • Keep statutory records up to date for tax, MOT, insurance, and licensing.
  • Validate fuel card requests and monitor fuel transactions for accuracy.
  • Assist with procurement activities, including raising purchase orders.
  • Support insurance claims processing and incident reporting.
  • Liaise with suppliers and service providers to resolve compliance issues promptly.
  • Produce and analyse fleet data reports using Excel and Power BI.
  • Ensure GDPR compliance when handling sensitive documentation.
  • Administer hire vehicle approvals and monitor associated costs.
  • Support monitoring of electric vehicle charging infrastructure.
We’re looking for someone who:
  • Understands vehicle compliance requirements (MOTs, O Licence, tax, insurance).
  • Has experience managing insurance claims and analysing fleet data.
  • Is highly organised, with the ability to prioritise tasks and meet deadlines.
  • Communicates effectively with internal teams and external stakeholders.
  • Is proficient in IT systems, including fleet management software, Microsoft Office, and DVLA portals.
