
Gas Quality Inspector

This is an exciting opportunity for someone with strong technical knowledge, excellent communication skills and a passion for maintaining the highest safety and quality standards in residential gas works.
Key Responsibilities:
- Provide technical oversight and assurance across gas installations and heating systems
- Carry out detailed audits and inspections on completed gas works
- Draft and review technical specifications to ensure compliance with regulations and Council standards
- Liaise effectively and courteously with contractors, tenants, and internal teams
What We're Looking For:
- Excellent communication skills – As a regular and intrinsic part of the role involves speaking to members of the public, you must be able to converse at ease and provide clear, accurate advice in spoken English. Being polite and courteous is essential.
- Education – Minimum GCSEs (or international equivalent) including Maths and English (Grade C/4 or above).
- Technical Qualifications –
- CCN1 – Core Domestic Gas Safety
- CENWAT – Central Heating and Hot Water
- CKR1 – Cookers
- HTR1 – Gas Fires
- Experience – Minimum of three years’ experience in a similar role within social housing or residential environments, conducting gas inspections or quality assurance checks.
- Technical Knowledge –
- Understanding of boiler and heating system specifications, including ground source heat pumps
- Knowledge of Gas Safety (Installation & Use) Regulations and associated British Standards
- Specification Skills – Ability to draft and review technical specifications relevant to gas installations
