About Camden
Camden is changing on the inside to make life better for everyone. Our residents and communities are at the heart of everything we do. We’re home to the most important conversations happening today and we’re making radical social change a reality, so that nobody gets left behind. Here’s where you can help decide a better future for us all.
How You’ll Be Involved
Reporting to the Heat Billing Manager, you will be part of a growing area within the Council. You will be directly linked to the Heat Charges section that leads the billing for the Heat Metering programme.
This role is responsible for the provision of effective operational and administrative support to the Heat Metering and Billing project, supporting the planning, delivery and implementation on behalf of the Council’s District Heating Network and in line with government legislation.
Areas of focus may not only include overseeing the overall project, but the end-to-end project management of specific work streams; implementation and embedding of change elements into the business, and project management support activities as needed to deliver elements of the change portfolio and support the integration of heat metering within the Council.
The role will involve liaison with internal and external partners including central government to ensure that Camden is aware and prepared for the requirements of new legislation.
All About You
To find out more about what it is like to work at Camden, meet some of our People by visiting 'www.camdenjobs.co.uk/our-stories'.
You’re someone who thrives in a dynamic environment where collaboration, problem‑solving and clear communication make a real difference. You enjoy bringing structure and efficiency to complex projects and are comfortable supporting a programme that spans technical, operational and legislative areas. With a natural flair for organising information and improving processes, you can translate detail into practical actions that help the project run smoothly.
You’ll be confident building positive relationships with a wide range of stakeholders whether that’s internal teams, residents, senior leaders or government departments and you’re comfortable engaging with sensitive or detailed enquiries. You’re curious and adaptable, ready to learn systems like NEC Housing or Rapid, and you use tools such as Excel, Word and PowerPoint to present information clearly and professionally.
What sets you apart is your ability to anticipate challenges, spot opportunities for improvement, and support the embedding of change into business-as-usual services. You understand the importance of accuracy, accountability and budget awareness in a public‑sector setting, and you’re motivated by work that delivers real benefits for residents and the Council. Above all, you bring a positive, solution‑focused approach to helping Camden implement heat metering effectively and in line with national legislation.
