Within Calderdale the Housing Options Team assist members of the public to identify a wide range of tenancy and other housing issues and provide advice and support to residents to remain in their home or find alternative suitable accommodation. We are looking to recruit a Housing Advisor to work directly, both virtually and face to face, with a range of individuals and families at the earliest stage possible especially, but not exclusively, with households which include someone who’s an ex-offender or at risk of offending. The person appointed should have experience of undertaking comprehensive and hands on homelessness prevention work, have a good knowledge Homelessness Legislation and the rehousing options available to potentially homeless households in Calderdale. The role will include developing better relationships and acting as a link worker for key agencies such as Probation, Prisons and Police, securing accommodation offers and being a direct point of contact. The successful applicant must have a full driving licence and use of a car is essential.
