About Camden
Camden is changing on the inside to make life better for everyone. Our residents and communities are at the heart of everything we do. We’re home to the most important conversations happening today and we’re making radical social change a reality, so that nobody gets left behind. Here’s where you can help decide a better future for us all.
What You’ll Be Doing
As an Income Officer, you will provide a person‑centred housing income collection service that supports residents across the borough to sustain their tenancies and maintain financial stability. You will take a proactive approach to managing rent accounts, stepping in early to prevent arrears, offering practical guidance, and responding sensitively to individual needs.
This role combines supportive work with firm income recovery, from helping tenants maximise their income and resolve issues at an early stage, to managing complex cases that may require legal action, court attendance or enforcement. Using sound judgement, strong communication skills and a solid understanding of welfare benefits, housing policy and income‑management processes, you will balance empathy with accountability ensuring rent is collected efficiently while promoting positive outcomes for residents. This is a rewarding, fast‑paced role where you will make a meaningful difference to tenants’ lives and contribute to the overall financial resilience of Camden’s housing services.
This post is exempt from the Rehabilitation of Offenders Act and will require an Enhanced DBS.
