About the Team

An exciting opportunity has arisen to join our highly regarded Medical Education Team and be part of Warwickshire’s SEND Change journey. We have a permanent 0.5 FTE, term-time-only Inclusion Mentor vacancy in the north of the county.

About the role

We are looking for a motivated, resourceful and enthusiastic practitioner to work with pupils who are unable to attend school because of physical or mental ill health. The Medical Education Team delivers Warwickshire County Council’s statutory response for children and young people across the county who are unable to attend an educational setting for a short or extended period due to illness.

Key Requirements

The successful candidate will support secondary-aged pupils with their education and return to school, delivering creative interventions that engage learners and help secure the best possible outcomes. Although most of the work takes place in pupils’ homes and outside formal educational settings, a good understanding of school systems is important. The successful candidate will work alongside our team of subject specialist teachers to plan and deliver a core secondary curriculum.

The Medical Education Team is committed to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of children and young people and expects all staff to share this commitment. This post is subject to an enhanced DBS check and a Teacher Prohibition check.
