The Governors at Croft Primary School are seeking to employ 2 effective, enthusiastic Midday Supervisors to work in our friendly Primary School where pupils’ safety, happiness and wellbeing are at the forefront of our practice.

Number of children 337 – Age range 4 – 11 years

We are looking for people who:

  • Are committed to ensuring our children have a positive lunchtime experience.
  • Have excellent communication skills
  • Are team players
  • Have high expectations of children’s behaviour
  • Are caring, understanding and like spending time with children
  • Willing to undergo training appropriate to the role
  • Experience of working with children, promoting positive play and conflict resolution would be an advantage.

Duties will include:

  • Supervising the pupils in the dining areas and outdoor play areas
  • Supervising queues to dining areas and facilitate speedy service
  • Ensure that the overall arrangement for children to dine promotes an orderly and pleasant meals service.
  • Ensure that any spillage is removed quickly; trays are not left in dangerous positions, and are wiped where necessary.
  • Supervise return of used trays, crockery and cutlery by the pupils.
  • Ensure that tables are left clean for the next occupant.
  • Ensure dining areas are left clean and tidy
  • Arrange supervision to allow movement amongst the pupils within the area covered.
  • Ensure acceptable standards of behaviour are maintained in line with the Croft Code and School Behaviour Policy.
  • Minimise the likelihood of children hurting themselves, others or damaging property.
  • Supervising pupils in classrooms during bad weather.
  • Administering first aid.
