Our governors wish to appoint an enthusiastic and caring Midday Supervisor/Play Worker to join our lunchtime Play Team in our school. This is an important role in supporting the safety, wellbeing and enjoyment of our pupils.
The successful candidate will supervise pupils in the dining hall and playground, encourage positive behaviour and help create a happy and inclusive lunchtime environment.

As an OPAL (Outdoor Play and Learning) School we value the importance of play in children’s development. Our lunchtime provision offers exciting opportunities for imaginative, creative and active play. The role will involve supporting children in a wide range of play experiences, helping them build confidence, resilience, social skills and independence while ensuring their safety.

Duties include are not limited to but include:

  • Building independence in our children through the lunchtime process
  • Encouraging language and literacy development
  • Engaging in play with children
  • Setting up invitations to play including social spaces and activities
  • Encouraging friendships and resolving conflict
  • Working as a team to safeguard pupils
