About Camden
Camden is changing on the inside to make life better for everyone. Our residents and communities are at the heart of everything we do. We’re home to the most important conversations happening today and we’re making radical social change a reality, so that nobody gets left behind. Here’s where you can help decide a better future for us all.
How You’ll Be Involved
Join Camden Council as a Multi-skilled Commercial Engineer and help shape the future of our community spaces. We're looking for a versatile and experienced professional to deliver high-quality building repairs, planned preventative maintenance, and installations across a variety of council-owned properties including offices, libraries, children’s centres, and depots.
In this role, you'll be responsible for diagnosing and resolving building faults with a focus on electrical and mechanical systems, ensuring compliance with all relevant regulations and standards. You'll work independently, managing your own schedule and using your initiative to deliver efficient, cost-effective solutions that meet our “Right First Time” standards.
You’ll be expected to maintain excellent customer service, keeping stakeholders informed and satisfied throughout the repair process. Your work will include statutory testing and mechanical system maintenance, and 5-year fixed wire testing. You’ll also support the development of apprentices and contribute to continuous improvement by identifying recurring issues and proposing innovative solutions.
Using digital tools for job management and procurement, you’ll ensure accurate record-keeping and compliance with site-specific SLAs. Health and safety is paramount, and you’ll be well-versed in safeguarding, lone working, asbestos awareness, legionella, and other key safety protocols. If you're a proactive, skilled engineer with a passion for public service and a commitment to excellence, we’d love to hear from you.
