    What You’ll Be Doing / How You’ll Be Involved

    As a Nursery Teacher, DfE Teacher Qualified Status in Langtry Nursery, you will lead on the planning, implementation and evaluation of a high quality early years curriculum which includes a full commitment to anti-discriminatory practice. This will include daily, weekly and termly planning to meet children's needs and interests.

    The role is key within the nursery leadership team, you will promote children’s development within a secure, safe and stimulating environment, and with reference to good practice curriculum guidance appropriate to the ages and stages of development of the children.

    The Nursery Teacher will act as an advisor and have lead responsibility for the assessment of children’s overall development, including carrying out observations, recording children’s achievement, and maintaining developmental records to a high standard. A key aspect of this is planning and implementing interventions for children with SEND and additional needs. Day to day work will be due regard to Child Protection and safeguarding procedures and to report matters of concern to the Head.

    You will work in partnership with a range of professionals both within the centre, children parents/carers and members of the public, the children’s centre multiagency team and other council services e.g. inclusive intervention team as well as community services and resources e.g. local schools and community groups.

    The contract is offered within the teachers’ pay and conditions act.

    This post is exempt from the Rehabilitation of Offenders Act and will require an Enhanced DBS. Please note Camden also offers the DBS update service.

    To be considered for this exciting opportunity it is essential that the successful candidate holds a DfE Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) and Teacher Reference number alongside proven experience of working directly with young children in a group day care situation.

    You will be experienced Qualified Nursery Teacher who has worked within a busy nursery environment. You will work with flexibility to frequently changing demands. A proactive and, solution focused member of a multi-disciplinary team of staff. Communicating and working with colleagues to create an environment in which children’s development is fostered and in which good relationships grow.

    The working day is between 8am and 6pm with an agreed shift pattern. On occasions and with notice, work may be needed outside these hours.

    The right candidate will have knowledge and awareness of child protection and safeguarding policies & practice and working with families with complex needs.
