This is an exciting time to join the service as an integrated multi-disciplinary service delivering the Well Newham Approach through the use of Strengths Based Assessments. This role offers the opportunity to work with Social Workers and Social Care Officers helping them to improve practice, providing strong leadership and mentorship to the team fostering a culture of learning and development
About the Role
This is an exciting and demanding opportunity to support practice and delivery within our Promoting Independence Review Team.
The successful candidate will drive and improve outcomes for residents, their families and carers as well as working closely with our staff to support them to improve and develop practice.
You will collaborate with a team of social workers and social care officers, working closely to support them to provide an adult person centred service.
You will ensure that social workers and other staff pro-actively engage and build positive relationships with partners across all sectors to deliver joined up services.
You will support staff to work in partnership with customers, carers and their families to identify needs.
The duties of the Practice Manager will include, but not limited to:
- Line management responsibility for staff in the team, which includes practice supervision of qualified social workers and non-qualified workers.
- Holding budget responsibility within a scheme of delegation for care services.
- To have responsibility for the effective delivery of the Council’s statutory responsibilities to people with social care needs aged 18 and above, and their families and carers for a designated Neighbourhood Team.
- To manage the operational interface with health partners in the relevant PCN.
- To support the Team Manager in enhancing the performance of the service, in the context of the council’s overall objectives, national health and social care objectives and local objectives.
- To ensure that the work of the Promoting Independence Review Team promotes independence, choice and social inclusion.
- To be responsible for the implementation of the Council’s safeguarding adults procedures and quality assurance arrangements as required.
- To directly manage and provide leadership support to, senior practitioners and other senior social roles as required within the team.
- Cover for the team manger when required to represent the team.
This is an excellent opportunity for an experienced Practice Manager or a suitably experienced candidate aspiring to progress into a Practice Management role.

The suitable candidates will be responsible for developing and managing the Promoting Independence Review Team responsible for the delivery of strength-based, scheduled reviews of people in receipt of long-term care and support from the Council.

About You
We are looking for candidates who have strong practice development skills with demonstrable experience of delivering high quality interventions for residents, their families and carers, and experience of supporting practitioners to implement and embed excellent practice.
You will have sound understanding of Care Act interventions along with significant knowledge of Strengths Based Practice, Mental Capacity and Safeguarding Adults, including significant knowledge of risk and the current research and practice in this.
You will have experience of developing strong working relationships with partners in the voluntary, community and faith sector, health, and have experience of intervention and delivering support and interventions with residents. Excellent communication skills are critical and you will have demonstrable experience of working within multi-disciplinary settings and delivering and developing training for multi-disciplinary audiences. Finally, the successful candidate will have some demonstrable experience of using IT recording systems and data to monitor team activity, support quality assurance, and drive service improvement.
