You will help children develop confidence, independence and a love of learning, working closely with the other class teacher and the EYFS team to provide consistent teaching and care throughout the week.• Plan engaging learning across the seven areas of the Early Years Foundation Stage (EYFS), combining purposeful play, continuous provision and adult-led teaching.• Develop communication and language, earlyliteracy, systematic synthetic phonics and early mathematics.• Use observation and assessment to plan next steps, adapt teaching to individual needs and contribute to Reception statutory assessments.• Build warm relationships, positive routines and strong partnerships with parents and carers. What we are looking for:• Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) by the agreed start date.• Successful teaching or initial teacher training placements, with the ability and potential to teach Reception effectively.• Sound understanding of the EYFS, child development and how young children learn.• Inclusive practice for children with special educational needs and disabilities, those learning English as an additional language and disadvantaged children.• High expectations, positive behaviour support and a commitment to safeguarding.• Strong teamwork, reliable handover and a willingness to reflect, learn and respond to feedback.Reception or EYFS experience, including training placements, is desirable. Knowledge of Little Wandle Letters and Sounds Revised and experience of early reading and phonics teaching are also desirable. ECT applicants are not expected to have completed induction or held curriculum leadership responsibilities.Professional support:The role includes planning, preparation and assessment (PPA) time. An ECT undertaking induction will receive the required mentoring, training and additional timetable reduction, adapted to the part-time working pattern.
