Wakefield is ambitious for children and have adopted an innovative approach throughout its residential model.

We are seeking to appoint suitably skilled, motivated, and caring Children’s Residential Workers to support children and young people aged 6 to 18 years with Special Educational Needs and Disabilities (SEND).

At times, children and young people in care require additional support to help them manage the impact of complex trauma and meet their individual needs and disabilitiy. Finding placements that are warm, nurturing, and provide a genuine sense of home can be challenging. This can result in children experiencing multiple placement breakdowns before a suitable home is found that can effectively manage risk and support their social, emotional, and developmental needs.

Too often, this means that some of the most vulnerable children and young people are placed far from their home communities, support networks, and familiar surroundings, which can have a negative impact on their wellbeing and outcomes.
