Knowsley Council’s Exchequer Services plays a vital role in safeguarding the financial health of the authority while supporting our residents.

We are seeking a detail-orientated individual to join our Non-Domestic Rates (NNDR) Team within our Revenues Service.

You will manage the identification and reporting of new domestic properties to the Valuation Office Agency (VOA) enabling timely banding and billing. The role is key to ensuring the Council Tax Base is accurate and that new dwellings are correctly brought into charge at the earliest opportunity.

Key Responsibilities

  • Identify new domestic builds, conversions, and property changes
  • Report new and altered properties to the Valuation Office Agency accurately and promptly
  • Liaise with Planning, Building Control, Developers, and the VOA
  • Compile, maintain and update our Council Tax Base database keeping accurate records
  • Support in the reporting of figures for the Council Tax Base Government returns
  • Update Council Tax Systems following banding notifications from the VOA
  • Monitor outstanding cases and follow up with the VOA when required
  • Assist the Revenues Team with NNDR billing, recovery and collection processes including preparing cases for liability order hearings and attending court when required
  • Support the identification and processing of NNDR reliefs, exemptions and changes in liability

Previous Revenues experience is desirable.
