Safeguarding Officer - Huddersfield New College

Salary: Range 15-17 of the NJC pay framework for Support Staff, £32,199 - £34,253 per annum (reduced to £28,773.03 - £30,608.48 per annum pro rata) to reflect the reduced working nature of this role. Standard practice is to appoint at bottom of scale.

As the Safeguarding Officer, you will support the Safeguarding Director (Deputy DSL) and the Designated Safeguarding Lead (DSL) in responding to all safeguarding concerns and implementing necessary actions.

You will need to be resilient as some disclosures can be distressing and emotions can be high, and able to adapt your responses to the appropriate situation. Strong organisational and time management skills are essential, as is the need to be approachable and communicate effectively with a wide range of people. For example, students, staff, parents / carers, social workers, police and CAMHS.
