SEN Teaching Assistant

To start as soon as possible

The governors and headteacher of Martin Frobisher Infant School are looking to recruit a highly resilient teaching assistant to support the teaching and learning of an individual child who finds the daily routine of school challenging. The post is temporary until 17th July 2027.

The successful applicant will support a child in Year 2 who requires positive behaviour support to access learning. You will be supported in the role by the class teacher, an experienced SENDCo and the Senior Leadership team and will be provided with appropriate training opportunities.

The successful person will:

• Be a warm and caring individual who can build positive relationships with young children
• Have a good understanding of behaviour management strategies, including de-escalation techniques
• Be resilient and have a flexible and supportive approach to changing demands
• Be highly motivated, have strong teamwork skills and a ‘can do’ approach to their work.
• Be a strong communicator who is a nurturing, patient and positive individual
• Have good literacy and mathematics skills
