    About Camden
Camden is building a place where everyone can thrive, by making our borough the best place to live, work, study and visit. We’re home to the most important conversations happening today and we’re making radical social change a reality, so that nobody gets left behind. Here’s where you can help decide a better future for us all.

    What You’ll Be Doing
This is an exciting opportunity to join the Area Regeneration Team at Camden. The team is at the forefront of delivering the We Make Camden vision and objectives, working together with our residents, businesses and partners to make a difference for the people of Camden.

Area Regeneration is a strategic, place-based and delivery focused team, leading a wide variety of area-based regeneration programmes and projects in Camden’s neighbourhoods. Examples include:

    • Vacant and neighbourhood spaces programme: Bringing vacant Council owned buildings across the borough back into use for both commercial and social value, supporting design and development, co-creation and engagement with stakeholders and developing viable operating and financial model.
    • Trial pedestrianisation of Camden High Street: including delivering interim public realm improvements, monitoring the impact of the trial, engaging with local businesses and communities, supporting the Camden High Street Cultural Programme and planning for next steps beyond the trial.
    • ‘One Kilburn’ community partnership: (Community Improvement District pilot) building relationships and networks at a grassroots level, enabling communities to influence and play an active role in the future of their neighbourhood and delivering a programme of community projects.
    • Enabling the Regeneration of the Kentish Town Regis Road Growth Area: working with developers, landowners, stakeholders and local residents to unlock the Camden Film Quarter and creation of a new sustainable neighbourhood of up to 1,000 new homes, jobs, open spaces, community facilities and connections.

As a Senior Regeneration Officer, you’ll play a key role in shaping and delivering place-based regeneration projects that respond to local needs and support Camden’s strategic goals. You’ll work collaboratively across the council and with a wide range of stakeholders including residents, community groups, businesses, landowners, institutions, and public bodies like the GLA, TfL, and central Government.

    Your work will involve:

    • Developing a deep understanding of Camden’s communities and places.

    • Applying strategic thinking and practical delivery to achieve positive outcomes.

    • Managing and supporting multiple projects to ensure they’re delivered on time, within budget, and to a high standard.

    • Identifying and securing funding opportunities.

    • Preparing reports and presenting to elected members, public forums, and decision-making boards.

    • Creating public communications and consultation materials.

    • Engagement and participation, which involves working with multiple stakeholders and partnership building.

    All About You

We are looking for 3 pro-active Senior Regeneration Officers to join our dynamic team and play a leading role in the area regeneration of Camden.

You must be a self-starter, with the ability to work flexibly and thoroughly at pace, with excellent team working, collaboration and partnership building skills. You must be comfortable working with complexity, across a diverse range of disciplines and stakeholders to creatively problem solve and deliver projects on the ground. You must be able to manage projects to meet demanding deadlines, lead others and galvanise support. You will be an engaging communicator and able to report to senior officers, boards and members, in both written and verbal form.

You will be commercially aware with a background in regeneration, community engagement and partnership building, built environment, development, economic growth or related fields. Knowledge and experience of the regeneration process and how to apply it to achieve high quality placemaking and deliver benefits for residents, communities and businesses is vital. You will have experience working in communities as well as scoping, project managing, reporting and delivering projects in an urban regeneration context. You will have excellent teamwork, collaboration and partnership building skills.

Importantly, you will have a passion for creating exceptional, sustainable places for communities and will need to have the same core values and level of ambition as set out in We Make Camden and the Way We Work.

Please let us know in the ‘Why you?’ section whether you would like to be considered for both permanent and fixed term contract lengths, or only one type.
