    Newham Council, Community Opportunities are looking for two Senior Support Officers that are motivated and driven to providing good support to staff and residents whilst attending day services. If you are passionate about ensuring people with learning disabilities have their best lives and have fulfilling days, we would like to hear from you. The resident group you will be working with will sometimes have additional health needs, someone with a good knowledge of working with people with profound leaning disabilities would be an advantage.

    We are looking for 2 Senior Support Officer that are passionate about ensuring people with learning disabilities have great opportunities to grow and have meaningful lives and exciting futures.

    Our 2 distinct services are as follows

    Positive Behaviour Support Service

    This service supports people who may display behaviours that challenge the service, we are looking for someone who can take a lead role with the staff group to develop strategies that will enable people to explore new ways of communicating their needs. If you have the skills and ability to motivate staff to provide excellent services whilst enhancing people’s lives, we would like to hear from you.

    Profound and Multiple Learning Disabilities Service

    The Service supports Care Act eligible residents with Profound and Multiple Learning Disabilities. It is proposed the Service will be strengthened to provide more meaningful activities, consider the use of Technology Enabled Care; and work in partnership for the benefit of the residents with the ELFT Learning Disabilities Health Team.

    We are looking for people who have experience of working with people with Learning Disabilities who have special needs or behaviours that challenge. Experience in managing or coordinating staff would be an advantage.
