    About Camden

Camden is changing on the inside to make life better for everyone. Our residents and communities are at the heart of everything we do. We’re home to the most important conversations happening today and we’re making radical social change a reality, so that nobody gets left behind. Here’s where you can help decide a better future for us all.

What You’ll Be Doing / How You’ll Be Involved

You’ll play a central role in ensuring Camden residents receive the full welfare support they are entitled to. This involves providing high-quality, specialist advice on welfare benefits, offering casework support to residents, and advocating on their behalf to secure the best possible outcomes. You’ll work closely with partners, community organisations, and internal teams to maximise residents’ income, prevent hardship, and contribute to our wider anti-poverty strategy.

Your work will directly improve the lives of some of our most vulnerable residents, empowering them to access their rights, navigate complex systems, and achieve financial stability.

This post is exempt from the Rehabilitation of Offenders Act and will require an Enhanced DBS.

    All About You

You’ll be an experienced welfare rights advisor with in-depth knowledge of the benefits system and related legislation. You’ll have excellent advocacy skills and the ability to communicate complex information clearly to a wide range of audiences. Your empathy, attention to detail, and ability to manage a varied caseload will be essential to your success. Your approach will be resident-focused, empathetic, and solutions-driven, with the ability to manage a complex caseload while delivering high-quality, timely advice. Strong written and verbal communication skills are essential, as is the ability to work collaboratively across teams and partner organisations.

We’re looking for someone who can build strong relationships with residents, colleagues, and partner agencies, who thrives in a fast-paced environment, and who is committed to tackling poverty and inequality in Camden.
