We are recruiting Specialist Foster Carers & Specialist Respite Carers

You can make a difference

We are looking for caring individuals or couples who wish to look after a child with additional needs. Many of the children who are part of the Specialist Foster Care Scheme are affected by additional health challenges, global delay or at risk of exploitation. They are of all ages from the very young to teenagers.

Some are at the start of their care experience or stepping down from residential care, where they have made significant progress.

We believe they are ready for the next step: a stable, nurturing foster home.

About you

If you have one or more years’ experience of caring for a child in a residential, educational, healthcare setting or have personal experience of caring for a child with additional needs, we’d love to hear from you.

Our Offer to You

Benefits and Support:

£866.59 per week for the carer, Separate child allowance.

Weekly visits shared between the Child’s Social Worker and Supervising Social Worker during the initial stages of placement. Tailored support package to meet child & Carer’s needs. Access to Newham’s in house clinical team. Autism Support Group, 3 weeks respite annually, setting up allowance for new carers, 100% Council Tax Exemption.
