BECOME A CO-OPTED MEMBER TO PROMOTE AND MAINTAIN THE HIGH STANDARDS OF CONDUCT FOR TOWER HAMLETS RESIDENTS
Help shape and improve council services that matter most to residents – become a co-opted member of the Standards Advisory Committee.
Co-optees have the opportunity to monitor the operation and effectiveness of the Code of Conduct for Members, to ask questions on breaches of the code; and to consider whether appropriate training for Members is in place.
The Council is keen to hear from Tower Hamlets residents who wish to be involved in this critically important Council function. Co-opted members will need to attend evening meetings in the Town Hall. The Standards Advisory Committee meets 4 times per year and Co-opted members can claim an attendance allowance for each meeting attended.
The co-opted member role has a person specification that includes the essential and desirable qualities for candidates and this will be provided to interested candidates. Applicants will need to demonstrate knowledge/experience of the relevant policy areas.
