Job description

Hours of work: 17 hours per week

Rate of Pay: £14.50 per hour if employed / £18.00 per hour if self employed.

About the recipient

The individual is male 83 years old and resides in Fridaythorpe. They require a dedicated and suitable person to support them.

They enjoy watching westerns especially John Wayne ones. Also watches other programs on tv, He likes using his iPad and contacting friends on his phone but has difficulty doing this, His past interests include sailing, sub aqua, land yachting, judo, shooting.

About the role

The successful candidate will be responsible for:

Encouragement to exercise, help with basic technology, we have a friendly young dog and Gentleman would love to have assistance to take it out for short walks, Personal care, possibly attending appointments, emotional support, company, some household tasks, meal prep and support.

Hours

• 1 hour per morning Monday – Sunday 8am – 9am.
• 30 mins per lunch – Monday to Sunday between 12 and 1.30.
• 30 mins per tea time – Monday to Sunday – between 5 and 7.
• 1 hour per PM – Monday to Sunday 9.30 – 10.30pm.
• 2 hours per week domestics.

About the candidate

The suitable candidate must:

• Be motivated, proactive and able to work on their own initiative.
• Be patient, caring and understanding.
• Have good communication skills (clear and effective communication).
• Be able to build a positive relationship with the individual to both encourage and support them.
• Have previous experience caring for an individual with additional needs.
• Be flexible to accommodate the hours of work where necessary.
• Be a team player and able to work effectively alongside another carer.
• Must have use of own car, to transport individual to social activities and appointments.
• Be comfortable with animals to assist with the individual’s *pet type.

DBS/Reference checks will be required for this post – Cost to be met by the local authority.
