Job description

Hours of work: 21 hours per week

Days/Times: Monday to Friday – 4 hours 20 mins per day – 10am-2.20pm – however hours per day flexible depending on needs.

Rate of Pay: £14.50 per hour if employed / £18.00 per hour if self-employed.

The individual is male 56 years old and resides in Beverley. They require a dedicated and suitable person to support them due to having : schizophrenia, crone’s disease, chronic exhaustion, balance problems, and has a stoma however support not needed with this.

About the role

• Medication check in’s, prompts as can sometimes forget.
• transport to medical appointments, like doctors, dentist, opticians, and any other medical appointments, like hospital transport, as well as occasionally to take him to and from parents house in Driffield from time to time to meet my parents.
• Some personal cares - assistance in having my lower legs and feet washed, and back.
• Domestic’s - to wash dishes, wash and dry clothes, sweeping, vacuuming, mopping floors, general cleaning and dusting, no ironing required for the clothes.
• a little help in DIY, like painting doors, frames and skirting boards, etc.
• helping out with finances and checking up on bills,.

gentleman does like to watch TV and it would be nice to share a cup of tea with the PA after their work is done and to have a nice chat, and possibly watch TV together.

Hours – Monday to Friday 10 am start – hours per day to be dependant on weeks commitments and support needs.

About the candidate

The suitable candidate must:

• Be motivated, proactive and able to work on their own initiative.
• Be patient, caring and understanding.
• Have good communication skills (clear and effective communication).
• Be able to build a positive relationship with the individual to both encourage and support them.
• Be flexible to accommodate the hours of work where necessary.
• Must have use of own car, to transport individual to social activities and appointments.

DBS/Reference checks will be required for this post – Cost to be met by the local authority.
