About the Role
Hartford Primary School is seeking to appoint a caring, patient and dedicated Teaching Assistant to support a child in upper key stage 2 with Autism Spectrum Disorder (ASD).
The pupil accesses learning successfully within the mainstream classroom and enjoys being part of the wider school community. The successful candidate will provide targeted support to enable the child to fully access the curriculum, develop independence and achieve the outcomes identified within their Education, Health and Care Plan (EHCP).
This role would suit someone who is calm, adaptable and able to build strong, positive relationships with children whilst maintaining high expectations for learning and behaviour.
Key Responsibilities
• Support a Year 6 pupil to access learning across the curriculum.
• Work alongside the class teacher to adapt resources and activities where required.
• Promote independence and confidence in learning.
• Support the development of social communication and interaction skills.
• Implement strategies and provision outlined within the pupil's EHCP.
• Liaise effectively with teaching staff, SEND staff and parents as appropriate.
• Contribute to monitoring progress towards EHCP outcomes.
