Teaching Assistant (SEND)
We are looking for a caring, committed and enthusiastic Teaching Assistant to support pupils with SEND.
Fairburn View Primary School is seeking to appoint an enthusiastic and nurturing Teaching Assistant who is passionate about helping children with Special Educational Needs and Disabilities to thrive.
The successful candidate will work closely with teachers, our SEND team and other colleagues to provide high-quality support for pupils with a range of additional needs. This may include supporting individual pupils on a 1:1 basis, working with small groups and providing support within the classroom.
The successful candidate will:
- Have a genuine commitment to supporting children with SEND.
- Be patient, caring, positive and resilient.
- Build warm, consistent and professional relationships with pupils.
- Have high expectations for all children while recognising and responding to their individual needs.
- Support pupils with their learning, communication, social interaction, emotional regulation and independence.
- Be able to adapt activities and approaches to enable pupils to access learning successfully.
- Work effectively alongside teachers, the SENDCo and other professionals.
- Follow individual support plans, provision plans and recommendations from external professionals.
- Support pupils to develop confidence, independence and positive relationships with others.
- Be calm and consistent when supporting children who may communicate distress through their behaviour.
- Understand the importance of safeguarding, confidentiality and professional boundaries.
- Be flexible and willing to support pupils with a range of needs across school.
Experience of working with children with SEND would be an advantage, particularly experience of supporting pupils with needs such as autism, ADHD, speech, language and communication needs, social and emotional needs or learning difficulties. Salary range
- £18,410 - £18,702 per year
