We have a new opportunity to join our Revenues & Benefits team on a part time, 2-year fixed term contract.

We are looking for a motivated and detail-oriented individual to join our Revenues & Benefits team as a Temporary Accommodation Officer. In this vital role, you’ll ensure accurate invoicing, benefit processing, and debt recovery for residents in temporary accommodation. Working closely with colleagues across Housing and Finance, you’ll help ensure that residents receive the correct support and that the Council’s financial processes run smoothly.

You’ll work within a small, supportive team and collaborate closely with colleagues in the Housing team to ensure that residents placed into temporary accommodation are awarded the correct housing benefit (where appropriate) and that the correct council tax is charged. You will ensure that rent charges are invoiced in a timely manner and monitored for non-payment, instigating appropriate recovery action where necessary.

We’re looking for someone who brings a flexible mindset and sound judgement to their decision-making.

Your work will directly support some of the borough’s most vulnerable residents by ensuring fair and accurate financial management of temporary accommodation.
