An exciting opportunity has arisen to join Peabody Trust’s Legal Services Team as a Solicitor. This is a part-time role on a fixed-term basis for 6 months, with the potential to extend and increase working days. The successful candidate will provide a comprehensive in-house legal service, primarily focused on non-contentious commercial and residential property law. This includes general property and land law, landlord and tenant law, and commercial contracting. The work will involve a wide range of non-contentious matters, focusing on landlord and tenant work relating to the retail property portfolio, but will also include advising on other types of commercial property matters, proposed development sites and other Council matters as appropriate.
The Council is looking for a candidate who can progress property transactions, working collaboratively with the Council’s property team and with minimal supervision and has the confidence to tackle a variety of other matters. About the rolePurpose of the job To assess and take the requisite action in relation to licensing applications and to undertake compliance and enforcement activities and actions in accordance with law, statutory guidance, codes of practice and policy to ensure the Council meets its statutory obligations.
