The role
We are looking for a Finance Business Partner - Business Services to partner effectively with our business services departments ensuring high quality financial data and advice to enable delivery of our strategic plans.
This role reports to the head of finance but will also have frequent engagement with the director of finance, IT and governance, other executive directors and heads of service. Regular interaction with external & internal auditors, pension schemes and a range of specialist advisers will also be a key part of the role. A strong focus on delivery, change management, problem solving and an ethos of customer service, combined with a strong character and a good sense of humour will be required to succeed in this exciting and rewarding role.
The post holder will drive optimal use of our financial resources through effective financial planning and reporting processes, ensure completion and timely submission of statutory returns including VAT and managing the delivery of the monthly payroll process.
Accountabilities
Your accountabilities will include but not limited to:
- Prepares allocated sections of management accounts working closely with all business services departments
- Prime contact for business services departments for all aspects of financial planning, budgeting and forecasting while monitoring in year spend
- Prepare accurate, reliable and timely financial reports including monitoring management accounts, annual budgets and biannual reforecasts
- Working closely with our HR team and external service providers to ensure the accurate payment and accounting for payroll, pension contributions and related employee costs
- Provide monthly key account control reconciliations and ensure any anomalies are fully investigated and resolved
- Prepare allocated sections of annual report and financial accounts including debtors, creditors, operating lease commitments and payroll
- Maintain control processes including approvals for establishment control and headcount management
- Lead and manage the Finance Specialist - Accounts Payable

Key skills, knowledge and experience:
- CCAB qualified accountant
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills
- Strong digital skills including Excel and specialist finance systems
- UK GAAP, FRS102 and Housing SORP and relevant financial regulations and compliance requirements in social housing
- Enabling process efficiencies and effectiveness through automation and effective use of systems and technology
- Accounts Payable and PO system experience
- Financial planning, reporting and analysis
- Social housing or similar asset-based customer-oriented entity
- Managing and leading a small team effectively
