Summary
What you'll do
As a Tax Officer, you'll ensure NHG's tax compliance and efficiency, directly supporting our mission to provide affordable homes across London. Working closely with the Tax Manager and Tax Associate, you'll safeguard VAT accuracy, identify strategic opportunities, and contribute to financial practices that benefit residents and communities.
How you'll do it
Prepare VAT returns for NHG and subsidiaries, ensuring adherence to HMRC regulations and deadlines.
Assist in posting VAT journals, reconcile control accounts, and maintain schedules aligned with monthly reporting cycles.
Assist in group audits related to tax matters, providing accurate data and resolving queries promptly.
Support Partial Exemption calculations and identify tax planning opportunities to reduce risks and enhance efficiency.
Handle complex datasets in Excel and internal systems, ensuring precision in tax records and compliance tracking.
Drive enhancements in financial controls and tax processes to support NHG's strategic goals.

Essential:
Hold or studying towards CCAD recognised accounting qualification (AAT/CTA/ACCA or equivalent)
Experience in tax compliance and VAT partial exemption
An understanding of stamp duties and corporation tax
Proficiency in Excel and experience managing financial data/reconciliations.
Strong analytical skills to interpret tax legislation and support data-driven decisions.
Excellent communication abilities for collaborating with internal/external stakeholders.
Desirable:
Experience with VAT compliance in large organisations.
Familiarity with housing sector finance
