Ofsted
An opportunity has arisen to join this high achieving, successful, well-ordered and caring mixed comprehensive school for students aged eleven to sixteen in which students have very positive attitudes towards their learning and are supported fully in all aspects of wellbeing.
At Redden Court School we prioritise the development of outstanding teaching and learning alongside wellbeing. All members of the school community are cared for, valued and listened to, we support and challenge our students to aspire to be the very best that they can be; enabling them to be responsible, capable and ambitious citizens. We have the highest expectations of our students and staff.
We invest in our staff to help them to become the best possible teachers they can be. There are excellent opportunities for people who work hard. Effort is often recognised in career development. Many who came to us as NQTs now have substantial leadership roles. Our CPD programme and collegiate approach are highly effective.
If you are an inspiring, enthusiastic Teacher of Boys Physical Education who recognises that the best practitioners always want to improve, we would like to talk to you. This is an exciting opportunity to be part of a forward thinking school. The ability to teach high quality lessons in rugby, basketball and cricket would be desirable. The candidate must also be able to teach GCSE PE. The candidate must be available to run extra-curricular clubs before, during and after school.
The Redden Court PE Faculty endeavours to deliver an extensive curricular and extra-curricular programme to allow students to learn and progress in a number of different sports and activities. As well as the core PE programme, students in KS4 will have the opportunity to study GCSE PE. The faculty consists of six experienced teachers (two male and four female) who work closely to deliver core and credited PE lessons, an extensive extra-curricular programme and many trips, both in the UK and overseas.
Within the last ten years the faculty has had lots of extra-curricular success, both with the boys and girls. We have had many individual performers and sports teams crowned champions in Havering, Essex, London, Regional and National Level. In 2023 we were crowned u13’s national cup football champions and even represented England in the British Isle tournament in 2024. The expectations of the faculty is that both students and teachers work hard both in lessons and extra-curricular clubs in order to improve their own and their teams performances to be the best they can possibly be.
In 2019 we saw the start of the Redden Court Sports Academy (RCSA). The academy started alongside our Sporting Aptitude programme, where the school can select up to 10% of the intake based on a student's sporting aptitude. Students who gain entry to the school via the Sporting Aptitude programme and excel in PE and sport will have the opportunity to be selected for the Redden Court Sports Academy (RCSA). This process begins in Year 7 and allows the faculty to develop our students to become outstanding performers and eventually leaders and ambassadors.
In Year 10, students at Redden Court will have the opportunity to become a Sports Captain. The role of the Sports Captain is to lead and organise house sports events as well as taking on leadership roles at primary school sports events within Havering. Redden Court has some of the best sports leaders in the borough and we are always proud of our students when they take on these ambassadorial roles.
We will gladly accept applications from ECTs, recently qualified and experienced teachers. The ability to demonstrate excellent subject knowledge and to consistently teach inspirational lessons within this highly committed faculty is essential.
