From this we expect to see an additional 2,500 jobs created over the next decade, injecting £1.5 billion to the local economy.</p><p>The Repairs and Maintenance Service (RMS) is the London Borough of Newham in-house housing repairs provider based in the heart of the borough at Bridge Road Depot. </p><p>RMS employs just over 250 staff to deliver a comprehensive range of services to the residents of Newham. </p><p>RMS receives around 1,000 repair orders a week and provides an in-house solution to the following types of work:</p>\n\n <p>​</p><ul>\n<li>Responsive repairs (all trades) </li>\n<li>OOH 24/7 365 emergency service </li>\n<li>Voids refurbishment </li>\n<li>Kitchen and bathroom replacement programmes </li>\n<li>FRA works </li>\n<li>Water Quality Services</li>\n</ul> <p>​</p><ul>\n<li>Disabled Adaptations </li>\n<li>Planned Electrical testing and works </li>\n<li>UPVc window and FED replacement programmes </li>\n<li>Gas Servicing, breakdowns and renewals </li>\n<li>Estates and communal works programmes </li>\n<li>Highways and street scene repairs </li>\n</ul>\n\n <p> </p><p>The role is based within the Business Development Team who provides key support to these front line services and acts as a conduit between the services and Newham’s Corporate Services</p><p><strong>About the Role</strong></p><p>The post holder will work closely with the Business and Finance Manager on continual service delivery and improvements throughout the Repairs and Maintenance Service. The responsibilities or steps in performance management process vary broadly depending on the emphasis of performance efforts and the individual carrying it out. </p><p> The post holder will also be responsible for providing relevant and timely advice to Directors and their Service Management Teams in their strategic decision making, and ensuring they receive effective and timely support and advice on all financial matters related to the development of RMS service strategies, service plans and service delivery. </p><p>This role is suited to someone who likes to continuously review and improve processes, learning from feedback and best practise requirements.
