The Strategic Transport Planning and Investment (STPI) Team is looking to recruit an Apprentice who is committed and motivated to complete the 33 month programme.
Your main duties will be to support the team in the development of strategic transport policies, strategies and delivery plans and the delivery of projects within the Council’s Transport Capital Programme. You will be involved in the analysis of transport issues, the development of solutions, consultation with the public and stakeholders as well as supporting the team in the development and delivery of a pipeline of projects to support the Council’s growth and investment ambitions.
Your role will include support for:

<li>Assisting the team in analysis work to help inform strategy and project work.</li>

This role combines both technical training with members of the team as well as studying towards a Level 3 Transport Planning Technician qualification with Chichester College, typically one day per week online learning course, with periodic in-person attendance required. Through a range of programmes, you can make a genuine difference:Independent Visitors – Befriending Service (Ages 8–17)Independent Visitors (IVs) are matched with children in care to offer friendship, consistency, and fun experiences. Many have little or no contact with their birth families. You’ll visit regularly and enjoy activities together — such as going to the park, cinema, theatre, bowling, or exploring new hobbies — building trust, confidence, and a sense of stability. Develop Me Mentoring Programme (Ages 16–25)Develop Me matches mentors with young people in care and care leavers to help them set and achieve personal goals, explore education or work opportunities, and build life skills. You’ll offer encouragement, promote wellbeing, and provide a safe space to talk, helping them grow in confidence and independence. Next Step – Befriending Service (Ages 16–25) Next Step supports care experienced young people who may be socially isolated. Volunteers offer friendship, companionship, and opportunities to socialise. You’ll help them build connections, improve wellbeing, and learn practical skills such as cooking, budgeting, and preparing for work, alongside creative and fitness activities to boost confidence. As a volunteer, you will be a positive, consistent presence in a young person’s life, offering encouragement, guidance, and a safe space to talk. Join North Kent College’s dynamic Apprenticeships &amp; Work Placements team in a key role supporting the success of our T-Level students. We’re looking for a qualified, experienced, and passionate individual to coordinate industry placements and help shape the future careers of our learners in the role of T-Level Industry Placement Coordinator.
In this role, you’ll be involved in building and maintaining strong relationships with employers, students, and internal stakeholders including curriculum teams, careers advisors, and support services to ensure a smooth and rewarding placement experience for all.
You will take the lead on managing the entire T-Level industry placement process, from initial employer engagement to placement completion, while actively promoting North Kent College across a range of sectors.
Knowledge or experience in the Early Years or Construction sectors would be a significant advantage, as many of our T-Level learners specialise in these areas.

The Role:
Where you’ll work: This role is either based at the Dartford or Tonbridge campus, and the nature of the work will require travel to any of the College sites as required.
