Full time

Early Help responds to the emerging needs of children and their families, focusing on building their resilience as well as providing help at a time when evidence indicates that support can have the most impact. Coventry continues to invest in the Early Help Service and is proud of the work that is delivered by a multi agency team from the 8 Family Hubs located in the communities across the city

We are dedicated and committed to helping empower children, young people, and families to build resilience and thrive. By collaborating with the Supporting Families Teams, Social Care Teams and a wide range of partners, we will ensure that families receive the right help at the right time by the right people.

Coventry was one of the 15 Local Authorities that were selected to be a ‘trailblazer’. We will share our learning and best practise with other Local Authorities across the UK. We will continue to lead the way and be able to evidence the difference we make to children's and families' lives. Join us in making a difference.

    Our Values

In line with our One Coventry Values, we want to ensure that our communities are represented across our workforce. A vital part of this is ensuring we are a truly inclusive organisation that encourages diversity in all respects, including diversity of thinking. We particularly welcome applicants from minority ethnic, LGBT+, disabled and neurodiverse communities to make a real difference to our residents so that equity and respect remains at the heart of everything we do.

    Our Values are:

    • Open and fair: We are fair, open, and transparent.
    • Nurture and develop: We help and encourage everyone to be their best and do their best.
    • Engage and empower: We talk and listen to others, working together as one.
    • Create and innovate: We embrace new ways of working to continuously improve.
    • Own and be accountable: We work together to deliver the best services for our residents.
    • Value and respect: We put diversity and inclusion at the heart of all we do.

    What is the job role?

Help us shape a stronger, more connected Coventry.

We’re looking for someone who thrives in the community — building relationships, solving problems, and making services easier for residents to access. You’ll work across Family Hubs and local neighbourhoods to understand what people need and help deliver real, practical solutions.

    What you’ll do

    • Be the first friendly point of contact for residents, offering universal help and connecting them to wider support
    • Build trust, spot hidden needs, and help residents navigate services
    • Act as a digital champion, supporting people to access online tools and services
    • Work with partners across the Council, Early Help, and the community
    • Shape local service offers by capturing insights, trends and resident feedback
    • Promote opportunities, raise aspirations, and support residents to thrive

All candidates must have the Right to Work in the UK. We are currently not offering sponsorship for this role.

This post is exempted under the Rehabilitation of Offenders Act 1974 and as such appointment to this post will be conditional upon the receipt of a satisfactory response to a check of police records via Disclosure and Barring Service (DBS).
    Who are we looking for?

Someone proactive, community‑minded and confident working independently. You’ll bring strong communication skills, a problem‑solving mindset, and a passion for helping residents access the right support at the right time.

If you want a role where every day brings new conversations, new challenges and real impact, we’d love to hear from you.

We are holding an informal open evening on 8 July at Mosaic Family Hub, CV4 9PL, from 4–8 pm. You are very welcome to drop in to learn more about this role and other opportunities within the service, and to meet the team.

In addition, The Job Shop is holding an awareness event on 13 July from 10–12, where you can meet hiring managers and get support with completing application forms. You can Register with the job shop for help and guidance.

If you need help or support completing your application, please visit our accessibility page to learn how we can assist you.

Guaranteed Interview Scheme - As part of our commitment to inclusion, we offer guaranteed interviews for specific groups of people. To qualify, you'll need to meet the minimum requirements for the role and identify with one of the below criteria:

    • Members of the Armed Forces and veterans
    • Are currently in care or have previously been in care
    • If you consider yourself to be disabled or if you have a long-term health condition

For full details on the application process please read the attached document on our jobs page labelled 'Coventry City Council Application Process'.

We recognise that you might use AI tools to help with your application. While these tools can be useful, please make sure that all information you provide about your experience, skills, and qualifications is accurate. What matters most to us is hearing about your experience and the achievements that truly reflect you!
