Be at the heart of positive change in Burnley
Based at Down Town, the hub for Crisis and Resilience support, this is an exciting opportunity to join a passionate team helping residents access the support they need, when they need it most.
We're looking for someone who enjoys working with people, building relationships and making things happen. This is a varied, hands-on role where no two days are the same. One day you could be delivering a community drop-in session, the next working with local organisations to develop new ideas, promote support services or manage funding that helps communities thrive.
As a Community Outreach & Grants Officer, you'll play a key role in Burnley's Crisis and Resilience Fund, helping individuals and families access early support before challenges become crises. You'll also help local organisations secure funding and deliver projects that reduce hardship, tackle isolation and strengthen community resilience.
We're looking for someone with:
- Experience in community engagement, outreach, or partnership-based work with voluntary, community, faith or public sector organisations.
- Experience of engaging directly with members of the public in community or outreach settings.
- Experience of working collaboratively with a range of organisations and stakeholders.
- Experience of supporting grants, funding programmes or project delivery, including monitoring and reporting.
- Strong communication, interpersonal and relationship-building skills.
- Strong organisational and IT skills, with the ability to accurately record, manage and report information.
- The ability to work independently and manage a varied workload.
- An empathetic, non-judgemental approach with a commitment to supporting vulnerable people.
A full UK driving licence and access to a vehicle for work purposes are essential.

Salary range
- £28,598 - £31,022 per year
