We are looking for an experienced and motivated manager to lead Hillingdon Council’s Complaints and Members’ Enquiries Team.

This is a key leadership role responsible for ensuring complaints and enquiries from Members and MPs are handled efficiently, professionally and in line with statutory requirements. You will lead a specialist team, manage complex and sensitive cases, oversee Ombudsman investigations, and use customer feedback to drive service improvement across the Council.

About You

You will have:

  • Significant experience managing a customer-focused, complaints, casework or regulatory service.
  • Strong leadership and people management skills.
  • Experience handling complex and sensitive complaints and enquiries.
  • Excellent written communication and report-writing skills.
  • Strong analytical skills and the ability to make sound, evidence-based decisions.
  • The ability to build effective relationships with senior managers, elected Members and external organisations.

What You’ll Do

You will:

  • Lead the Council’s corporate complaints and Members’ Enquiries function.
  • Manage Ombudsman investigations and high-profile escalations.
  • Drive improvements through learning from complaints and resident feedback.
  • Monitor performance, quality and compliance.
  • Support the development of policies, guidance and best practice across the organisation.
