You will be working remotely the rest of the week.</p>\n<p><strong>About the Team You’ll Be Working In</strong></p>\n<p>Parking Operations has a statutory duty to enforce parking restrictions on the borough’s roads and car parks under legislation set out within the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984 (RTRA), Road Traffic Act 1991 (RTA) and the Traffic Management Act 2004 (TMA).</p>\n<p>Our aim is to reduce traffic congestion, improve road safety and local air quality; and maintain the provision of parking spaces for permit holders whilst improving accessibility for all road users - especially those with disabilities.</p>\n<p>The Appeals and Monitoring team are a part of Parking Operations. We deal with PCN correspondence at all stages of the life cycle of a PCN, including at Representations, Appeal, Charge Certificate and Debt Registration stages.</p>\n<p><strong>Your key responsibilities will be to:</strong></p>\n<p>1. Investigate PCN Disputes: Review and assess PCN disputes carefully, following the council’s policies and procedures, before issuing a formal decision to the motorist.</p>\n<p>2.Maintain Performance Standards: Ensure that your letters are clear and concise, respond to the motorists’ points, and adhere to the relevant quality, policy, and legal guidelines. As part of this you must ensure that daily targets are either met or exceeded. </p>\n<p>3.Liaise with External Services: Work with the Traffic Enforcement Centre, County Courts, and Legal Services to promptly address Witness Statements and Statutory Declarations, ensuring all relevant policies and procedures are followed.</p>\n<p>4.Additional Duties as Needed: Assist with various other tasks, such as processing refund requests, responding to emails, and occasionally handling phone calls, to help keep the office running smoothly.</p>\n<p><strong>About You</strong></p>\n<p><strong>Your Skills:</strong></p>\n<p>If the below resonates with you we’d love to hear from you:</p>\n<ol>\n<li>Experience with PCNs and letter writing: You’re comfortable investigating PCN issues and handling correspondence professionally.</li>\n<li>Self-motivation and a strong work ethic: You take pride in your work, are driven, and enjoy working independently.</li>\n<li>Flexibility and a positive, solution-oriented attitude: You’re adaptable, always ready to pitch in with a \"can-do\" mindset, and you approach your work with professionalism.</li>\n<li>Computer literate: You’re comfortable using computers and Office 365 software tools including Excel and Outlook, to get the job done.</li>\n</ol>\n<p><strong>Professional Qualifications: </strong></p>\n<p>No professional qualifications are required for this role, although a level three City & Guilds Notice Processing qualification would be an asset. </p>\n<p>Read more about the work you’ll be doing in the Role Profile.</p>\n<p><strong>Don’t meet every single requirement? </strong>We know that sometimes people can be put off applying for a job if they think they can’t tick every box.  At Hounslow, we realise the ‘perfect candidate’ doesn’t exist.
