About the Role
We are seeking to appoint a Systems Maintenance Engineer, working a 12-hour shift pattern, within the Maintenance Delivery team based out of the Asset Management site at the Kingsway Tunnel in Wallasey.
As a member of the Systems Engineering team, the post holder will respond to all electrical/electronic systems based planned maintenance and reactive tasks safely, and in the agreed timescales across the Mersey Tunnels and wider LCRCA estate as necessary. The post will be supervised by the Principal Officer - Works Delivery.

About the person
The ideal candidate will be educated to HNC/HND in Control/Electronic systems and have an extensive background in the installation and maintenance of a wide variety of electronic and electromechanical control systems and equipment, including CCTV, Radio, SCADA and toll payment systems.
They will have excellent IT skills with the ability to fault find, configure and modify IT based plant and monitoring equipment.
Candidates must have a flexible and can-do approach that would support the organisational behaviours of LCR first, Respect and Action Focussed.
A full UK driving licence is essential for this role.

We're looking for a forward-thinking Principal Traffic Engineer to lead on all technical matters relating to traffic engineering and road safety, helping us deliver improvements that benefit communities across Enfield. 
 
As a senior member of the Design &amp; Construction team, you’ll provide expert guidance on traffic orders, road safety audits, and design standards. You’ll lead a team of skilled officers and act as the Council’s principal advisor on traffic engineering – ensuring our projects meet the highest standards for safety, accessibility and inclusion. 
 
You will: 
 
 - Act as the Council’s technical lead on traffic engineering, road safety and traffic order compliance 
 - Provide expert input into complex and high-profile infrastructure projects 
 - Oversee the delivery of road safety audits in line with best practice and national guidance 
 - Ensure road safety is embedded throughout project lifecycles, aligned with Vision Zero and Healthy Streets principles 
 - Manage and develop a small team, fostering professional growth and innovation 
 - Contribute to shaping policy and procedures that influence how we create safer, more liveable neighbourhoods 
 
About you: 
You’ll bring significant experience in traffic engineering and an in-depth understanding of relevant UK legislation and guidance (such as LTN 1/20). You’ll have a strong track record in delivering engineering solutions that balance technical rigour with community priorities. Your ability to communicate complex information clearly, build strong relationships with stakeholders, and manage multiple priorities will be key to success in this role.
