About the Role
Step into a pivotal position as our Digital Governance Officer – where your expertise will help shape the future of digital services across the Liverpool City Region. Reporting directly to the Digital Governance and Compliance Manager, you’ll be the part of the driving force behind establishing and embedding robust governance practices throughout our Digital service area.
In this wide-ranging role, you’ll lead and inspire a team of two Digital Governance Assistants, championing best practices and supporting colleagues across Digital Services; deliver insightful management information to the Digital Services leadership team, empowering smarter, data-driven decisions; collaborate closely with the Digital Contracts Manager to ensure our software licenses, contracts, and domain registrations are fully optimised and always compliant; play a key part in risk mitigation – assisting with audits, appraising policies, and ensuring we’re always ahead of the curve on compliance; and review and approve operational service change requests within our IT service management system, making sure every change supports our strategic goals.

About the Role:
As part of a multi-disciplinary team, you'll deliver person-centred counselling in line with BACP guidelines, working flexibly across the borough, including evenings and weekends. You'll collaborate with professionals across statutory, voluntary, and community sectors, contributing to safeguarding, service development, and early intervention strategies.
You will deliver confidential counselling to young people, escalating safeguarding concerns appropriately and keep accurate records, contributing to performance data. You will also support multi-agency working and service development and participate in supervision, training, and mentoring.
About the Candidate:
The successful candidate will hold a diploma-level counselling qualification and have experience of working with young people aged 11+ You should have knowledge of adolescent issues (e.g. substance misuse, CSE, domestic abuse) with strong safeguarding awareness and risk management skills Ability to work independently and as part of a team Desirable: Degree in a child-centred or therapeutic discipline Experience in group work, training delivery, or specialist areas (e.g. housing, mental health) Join a team making a real difference in young people's lives across Wirral.

Driver/Attendant - 24 hours x 3 posts - 12 month fixed term contract
Driver/Attendants ensure the safe transportation of vulnerable service users to and from schools, daycentres, colleges and other establishments. The role will require the post holder to carry out the Driver’s duties and at other times, the Attendant duties.
About the Role:
You will be required to drive a vehicle (minibus) or carry out the attendant duties whilst transporting clients with varying needs including learning disabilities, social, physical, mental health and/or medical conditions. You will be expected to ensure that all wheelchairs are safely secured, and all safety equipment utilised, is in full working order and report any incidents to the Assisted Travel Office. You will ensure timely pick-up and drop off of service users and liaise with the Assisted Travel office, service users and their parents/carers, schools, colleges, day centres and any other relevant establishment, to ensure any changes to daily schedules or exchanges of information are clearly communicated.
You will also be responsible for undertaking daily vehicle and tyre safety checks and complete the vehicle logbook to ensure compliance with Wirral Council Policy and Procedures and national legislation and ensure that the vehicle is kept in a clean and tidy condition, both inside and out at all times. You will need to be fully conversant with and respond to all health, safety &amp; fire procedures.

Experienced Occupational Therapist
21.6 hours per week
An exciting opportunity is available for an Experienced Occupational Therapist to come and work in our community OT Service, working with people in their own environment, to maximise their independence, reduce need for care and support as appropriate, and supporting carers in their roles.
You will develop your skills, knowledge and experience, in: long term conditions management, utilising specialist equipment and major adaptations, manual handling assessment outcomes and plans, adaptative techniques, postural and functional assessments to meet needs, reduce risks and maintain functional ability, improve safety and enable or maintain their independence where possible. Working in a community role under social care, housing adaptations, and all other relevant legislation, applying relevant legislation and equipment and grant criteria, to achieve outcomes for people, supporting with daily living activities. Working collaboratively with other professionals in ASC, and the wider MDT professionals, carers, and individuals.
You will develop your leadership skills supporting students, assistant, less experienced OT staff, supporting their development learning and experience. You will be supported by experienced OT colleagues and team leaders to develop your experience and skills, and undertake monthly service CPD sessions, including external speakers and representatives, and access to external courses as relevant, and our full range of training available, accessing any leadership skills development as required.
You will receive formal support, guidance and regular monthly clinical and management supervision from team leader. We hold monthly team meetings across the service areas, bringing together all therapy staff, discussing relevant and pertinent topics, service progression and exploring developments.

About the Role:
An exciting opportunity is available for an Occupational Therapist to work in our community Occupational Therapy service. About the Candidate:
The successful candidate will have experience of working in collaboration with people, completion of specialist assessments to identify solutions and experience of adapations which support independence.
You will develop your clinical skills, knowledge and experience in aids adaptations, long term condition management. As you will be working in a community role, learn how to apply social care legislation.&nbsp;
You will receive formal support guidance and regular monthly supervision from your line manager or specialist experienced therapist, and informal support form therapy colleagues, to help develop your confidence skills and abilities. There are regular monthly team meetings, monthly CPD sessions, practical learning sessions, formal training, informal training from reps on demonstration of new or upgraded products, assessment of postural seating provision, to enhance your CPD portfolio.

Public Health Officer
An exciting opportunity has arisen within Wirral's Public Health team to work within its operational Delivery Team. As a Public Health Officer, you will support the delivery of local health improvement initiatives, analyse data to inform policy, and work with partners to protect and promote the wellbeing of the community.
About the Role:
We’re looking for a proactive, people-focused individual to work on a range of tasks and projects as part of the delivery of the Public Health operational plan. Working as part of a multiskilled Public Health team, you’ll help protect and improve the health of local residents, particularly the most disadvantaged, working with partners, and driving forward innovative public health initiatives. An element of the role will involve health protection work, including supporting local outbreak management, responding to infectious disease outbreaks and supporting prevention efforts. You will also be advising on health protection issues including environmental hazards and emergency planning. Co-ordination of meetings, managing communications and building relationships with communities and partners are all key tasks.
About the Candidate:
You will be able to work collaboratively with internal teams, community groups and external partners to deliver impactful health interventions and co-ordinated support for organisations, communities and businesses. You will be proactive in developing and maintaining effective partnerships and relationships. You will hold a qualification in health, environmental health, or science or have equivalent experience. You will have strong communication and interpersonal skills, with a collaborative mindset. You should be confident working with data, digital systems, and performance monitoring tools and have a flexible, adaptable approach to be able to respond to requirements of the role.

Cook – 30 hours per week
We’re looking for a Cook to support an existing small team of cooks providing meals across Willowtree, which is a residential service for young people with complex learning and physical disabilities.
The successful candidate will support other cooks with menu planning, food ordering and portion control whilst ensuring that all food safety and Health and Safety Regulations are adhered to.

Assistant Accountant
About the role:
You will provide wide-ranging financial support across all aspects of the team and the wider finance function and support the Children, Family &amp; Education Directorate at Wirral Council, offering the opportunity to work with a variety of stakeholders, including budget holders, Head Teachers, and School Support Staff.
The schools Statutory Finance Team is responsible for managing both the government funded schools’ budget (Dedicated Schools Grant) and the council-funded budget for the Education function.
Working alongside a Finance Business Partner (FBP), the Assistant Accountant will provide timely financial information to budget holders, enabling informed decision-making and supporting the achievement of their objectives. You will assist the Finance Manager and FBP in developing management reporting and budget monitoring processes, with an emphasis on improving the quality of financial information, systems, and reporting tools whilst supporting the day-to-day administrative and transactional aspects of finance as this is a key responsibility of the post.
About the Candidate:
You will be passionate about improving public sector services, be a team player along with strong communication skills, as the role involves liaising with a wide range of internal and external stakeholders.
Experience working as a finance specialist is essential; however, prior knowledge of schools or education is not required.
This is an ideal opportunity for someone looking to gain further skills and knowledge to progress as a financial professional.

About the Role: 
We have an exciting opportunity here at Wirral for a highly experienced and motivated Workshop Manager to lead our Engineering Workshops within the Parks &amp; Countryside service.
This is a fantastic opportunity to take on a pivotal leadership role, managing a skilled team of Engineering Craftsmen who are responsible for the maintenance, repair, and replacement of a diverse fleet of machinery, equipment, and vehicles.
You will ensure that workshop services are delivered to the highest standards of safety, quality, and cost-effectiveness and play a key role in shaping service delivery, driving continuous improvement, and supporting strategic investment in our assets.
This is a hands-on role that demands technical expertise, strong leadership, and a commitment to operational excellence.
As Workshop Manager, you will lead technical projects of varying complexity, manage budgets, and work closely with internal departments, external contractors, and stakeholders.
You will also be responsible for developing the workforce, ensuring health and safety compliance, and supporting service transformation initiatives across the Parks &amp; Countryside estate. You will be expected to utilise digital tools and systems for diagnostics, reporting, and asset tracking to support informed decision-making and improve service efficiency.
About the candidate:
We are looking for a candidate with a proven track record in managing engineering workshops, ideally within horticultural or agricultural environments.
You will demonstrate strong leadership capabilities, with the ability to motivate, develop, and support a high-performing technical team and bring advanced mechanical knowledge and a clear commitment to safety, quality, and continuous improvement.
Your excellent communication and stakeholder engagement skills will enable you to build effective working relationships across a wide range of partners whilst taking a proactive and solutions-focused approach to service delivery and problem-solving.
A qualification in mechanical engineering at NVQ Level 5 or equivalent is essential. Additional qualifications in leadership, health and safety (such as IOSH or NEBOSH), or project management (such as PRINCE2 or ILM) would be highly desirable.
Experience and working knowledge of health and safety legislation, including PUWER, LOLER, COSHH, and vibration regulations, will be essential to ensure compliance and promote a safe working environment.

Team Leader (Area Streetscene)
About the Role: 
You would be responsible for the operational management of the highway network, delivered through the supervision of the Council’s strategic highway services contracts, for highway related infrastructure, and the management of a team of highway inspectors and their workload. This includes supervision of the Council’s Capital programme of structural schemes.
The Wirral has an approximate population of 350,000 people, with a highway network of 1100km of road. The area is diverse with old urban areas, rural environments, and a long coastline, all of which brings unique challengers for maintaining the highway. 
About the candidate:
Wirral Council is looking for an experienced and highly motivated team leader for its highway’s maintenance team working within the Highways and Infrastructure section.
We would like to hear from you if you have experience of the legislation, regulations, court procedures, standards, specifications, materials and operational practices relating to the inspection and maintenance of highways and associated infrastructure, and in the defence of claims against the Council arising from alleged defects in the maintenance of highway infrastructure.
You will be a good communicator both orally and written, have experience of highways and able to support and motivate a team of inspectors whilst having the following:

<li>ONC – in Highway or Civil Engineering or equivalent.</li>
<li>ILM Level 3 or equivalent management qualification.</li>
<li>Formal Street Works qualification.</li>
</ul>

About the Role:
Wirral Council is seeking a dynamic and compassionate individual to lead our administrative and visitor services team within the Cemeteries and Crematorium Service.
This is a rewarding leadership role where you will oversee the day-to-day operations of the Landican Cemetery Office and reception points, ensuring a high-quality, empathetic service is delivered to the recently bereaved and all visitors.
You will be responsible for managing the administrative team, ensuring accurate record-keeping, efficient scheduling of services, and full compliance with statutory requirements.
The role includes developing and delivering marketing materials, coordinating events, and supporting applications for external awards such as Green Flag.
About the candidate:
You will also contribute to the service’s Management and Development Plans and lead on income generation initiatives, including securing external funding and presenting business cases.
We are looking for someone with strong leadership and communication skills, who can inspire staff and volunteers, manage change effectively, and promote a positive image of the service.
You should have a detailed understanding of cemetery and crematorium operations, heritage and conservation standards, and visitor engagement.
Experience in project management, stakeholder relations, and financial oversight is essential.
This role is office based and may occasionally require weekend or evening hours.
You should be able to travel across the Borough and work from various locations as needed. Health and safety considerations include lone working, use of display screen equipment, and occasional exposure to challenging behaviour.

Assistant Asset Surveyor
About the Role:
This is a key role working within a multi-disciplinary Asset Management Team to provide a broad asset management function including landlord and tenant, compulsory purchase, valuation, and surveying services relating to all land and property matters.
You would assist on a broad asset management function relating to the Council's wide and varied property portfolio, and to meet the Council's strategic Asset Management objectives whilst supporting regeneration, housing and highways schemes including the acquisition of properties by agreement, by auction or under compulsory purchase legislation.
You would advise officers and members of the public on Council property ownership and related matters and undertake negotiations on minor property matters with professionals, companies, tenants, and members of the public.
A requirement to undertake the disposal of minor assets to deliver the Councils land and property disposals programme whilst assisting with the management of the Authority's leased property portfolio, which incorporates rental assessment, negotiating new leases, lease terminations, rent reviews, subletting’s, and assignments, in accordance with the Landlord and Tenant Acts and RICS regulations. Further ensuring they are managed effectively and in accordance with the Council's strategic aims.
About the candidate:
We are looking for someone who holds an RICS accredited Real Estate or Valuation degree at 2:2. About the Role
An exciting opportunity for someone with the skills, drive and determination to develop this all new role in the Facilities Management / Land &amp; Property Service.
Annually, our operations teams facilitate over 26 million journeys through the Mersey Tunnels and operate the Mersey Ferries services – carrying over 600,000 passengers.&nbsp; Our Maintenance Delivery services respond to over 20,000 reactive and planned maintenance tasks and support our wider investment plans across our diverse estate. Our 24/7, 365-day Operations and our Assets are key for the social and economic wellbeing of Liverpool City Region and beyond.

About the person
Reporting directly to the Land &amp; Property Manager, the Contract Manager will be the lead officer for the whole life process of contract procurement and management within the Customer &amp; Operations Directorate and where appropriate, the wider authority.
Whilst the principal focus will be on Facilities Management related contracts covering Operational Buildings, Land, and Tunnels, the role will also expand into supporting the Ferries operations, Maintenance Delivery services, Bus and Rail operations where there are opportunities for efficiencies.
You will have the experience and skills associated with whole life contract procedures from inception to completion and everything in between. Specifying, procuring, and performance managing a wide-ranging suite of Statutory and Non-Statutory contracts to support the delivery services and the diverse range of assets is a key function of the role.
You will be proactive, ensuring contracts are procured and managed in a timely manner to ensure the high standards required for estate management services are maintained and continuous. Ideally, you will have a facilities/contract/contractor management or engineering background with an understanding of the legislation that applies to contract procurement for the safe management of people, land &amp; complex property infrastructure.
You will have the drive and determination to work with other departments in their delivery of a range of services that the 1.6m people of Liverpool City Region expect and deserve. You will possess demonstrable skills for what is a key position in the organisation.
