All of the mainstream maintained schools and academies in the Borough currently commission EP support from the Service. This enables – alongside statutory and other Local Authority core work – EP contribution to SEN Support level assessment and consultation, organisational support and intervention, and community-based projects. Members of the team each link with a relatively small number of schools and other settings, with scope to provide a range of support within them. There remains a healthy balance of pre-statutory and preventative work, alongside a statutory role. We are always developing our practice, and recently have been strengthening our work as a Service in meeting the Social, Emotional and Mental Health (SEMH) needs of children and young people in Harrow. This has included ELSA delivery, and work around Emotional Based School Non Attendance. As a Service, we are actively contributing to aspects of the Local Authority’s SEND Strategy, including developing Ordinarily Available Provision guidance.We are a very positive, supportive and reflective team, which values individual strengths and interests as well as promoting team working and peer supervision. Sefton Arc, a unique service provided by Sefton Council, is seeking a dynamic individual to join our team. We offer a variety of services to support both council-wide initiatives and external customers, including Electrical, Alarms, Careline, and an Alarm Receiving Centre (ARC).

Role: Senior Alarms Technician
As an integral part of our central team, the Senior Alarms Technician, you will be responsible for overseeing a team of alarms engineers who carry out installation, servicing, and maintenance of a wide range of alarm systems, including intruder alarms, fire alarms, CCTV and other security systems. You will ensure that all work is completed to the highest standards of safety, compliance, and customer satisfaction, meeting accreditation standards.
Key Responsibilities:

<li>Supervise and support alarms engineers in their day-to-day duties.</li>
<li>Plan and coordinate installation, maintenance, and service schedules.</li>
<li>Ensure all systems are installed and maintained in line with industry regulations and best practices.</li>
<li>Provide technical guidance and training to team members.</li>
<li>Liaise with clients, contractors, and internal departments to ensure smooth project delivery.</li>
<li>Monitor performance, quality control, and compliance with health and safety standards.</li>
</ul>
What We’re Looking For:
<ul>
<li>Proven experience in the installation and maintenance of alarm systems.</li>
<li>Strong leadership and team management skills.</li>
<li>Excellent problem-solving abilities and attention to detail.</li>
<li>Good communication and interpersonal skills.</li>
<li>Relevant technical qualifications and certifications (e.g., FIA, NSI, or equivalent).</li>
