The Post
This role is an exciting opportunity to join the Commissioning and Resources team as a Children’s Commissioning Lead. The Occupational Therapist Assistant will join Hackney’s new Reablement Team, currently based within the Integrated Discharge Service. This team supports residents who have been discharged from hospital and can benefit from reablement, working alongside them as they are discharged from hospital. The aim of the team is to support residents regain their independence and confidence by providing practical support with their care needs, whether they are living in their own homes or staying in the new Reablement Assessment Flats.
You’ll be part of a collaborative service that works closely with families, carers and partner agencies to make sure residents feel supported every step of the way.
As an Occupational Therapist Assistant you will support Hackney residents to live more independently by carrying out strengths-based assessments, equipment reviews and follow-up visits under the guidance of a qualified OT. You’ll recommend and arrange specialist equipment, minor home adaptations and mobility support such as Blue Badges or Tech Enabled Living, ensuring all interventions are safe, effective and meet legislative requirements.
Working closely with residents, carers and a range of professionals, you will promote wellbeing, identify risks, and provide clear advice or signposting to other services.
The role includes accurate record-keeping on the council’s IT systems, preparing clear reports, and managing your caseload with good time management and professional standards.
Holding an accredited Trusted Assessor qualification and experience of carrying out occupational therapy assessments and recommending practical solutions that promote independence will be an advantage but not essential. As well as being confident in applying the Care Act and related legislation, you may have a strong working knowledge of specialist equipment, home adaptations, Tech Enabled Living and assistive technology.
You can make sound clinical decisions, manage your own caseload and record work clearly on case management systems.
Skilled in communicating complex information with residents, carers and professionals, you build positive relationships across a wide range of organisations. A commitment to strength-based, person-centred practice, continuous professional development and high professional standards is essential.

Service Manager - Adoption Service

We’re looking for two Heating and Billing Managers to join our Mechanical Services team and take operational responsibility for the delivery of heat network billing across our portfolio. In this role, you’ll manage billing and income collection services for approximately 250 heat networks, ensuring full cost recovery and compliance with Heat Trust standards. You’ll work closely with internal teams, contractors, and external stakeholders to deliver a first-class service to our customers while driving improvements and efficiencies. Heating and Billing Manager 

We’re looking for a detail-oriented and customer-focused Billing and Metering Administrator to join our Mechanical Services Team. In this role, you’ll support the delivery of heat network billing across our portfolio, helping to ensure accurate income recovery and a high-quality service for residents. You’ll work closely with the Billing and Metering Manager and other stakeholders to manage billing queries, maintain data systems, and contribute to the smooth running of approximately 100 heat networks. This is a varied role where your organisational skills and commitment to customer care will help us deliver sustainable heating services across our communities.What you’ll doAs a Billing and Metering Administrator, you’ll be the first point of contact for residents and internal teams regarding heat network billing. You’ll manage supplier relationships, support income recovery processes, and ensure compliance with Heat Trust standards. You’ll also contribute to service improvements, support out-of-hours operations, and deputise for the Billing and Metering Manager when required.
